Back in the 1960's there was brilliant steam inventor named Dick Smith. He developed a light steam carriage/buggy named the Educator. His work has inspired me on my project. Here is a copy of his Educator plans and patents he used to control the fire and water flow

I knew Dick Smith and visited his workshop back in the early 70s. Working with a mutual friend of mine and Dick's, Harcourt Hervey III, a rich Pasadena kid, with his own machine shop, we built an Educator. I bought the weed burner from Montgomery Ward for the steam generator. It was a fascinating time. I became an engineer, designing and building cleanrooms, a long way down the road from steam automobiles. I am happy to correspond and share more.
