My father died in the 60s and always told us this was a Stanley Steamer engine. It has been sitting in garages for decades and is covered in dust. I did not want to use any chemicals on it to clean it as I those it might decrease its value.

 I have been informed  that the engine could be a 1908/1909 dry with hook-up Stanley EX engine.

Prof. Wendell Mason’s “Mason Steamer”
Created from a 1941 Graham Hollywood (a rare Cord bodied car with modified hood and radiator) in the ‘50’s & ‘60’s by Prof. Wendell Mason. He wrote articles about it for SACA at the time.
It uses a 20HP Stanley engine mounted to a Columbia 2 speed axle, with a neutral for fire-up.
A gun fired monotube boiler fires from cold to #600 in 3 1/2 minutes, from the drivers seat.
Cleaver controls and a silent three cylinder water pump result in a very good running car.
Has completed 2 steam car tours in addition to much local driving.
Climbs steep hills well in low gear and cruises at 40 to 50 mph on level in high.
Approx. 4,000 miles since cosmetic restoration, tires, and brakes in 2000.

There's lot's of love for our Lykamobile - The original Lykamobile Steamer (Series 1) proved to be very popular with sixty five selling worldwide. The Lykamobile has been 'out of production' with a 5 year break in manufacturing and is, only now, being re-introduced due to customer requests. This brand new batch will be limited to only thirty across the globe with production starting in July 2016 - or sooner once ten confirmed orders are achieved. We drove our Series 1 Lykamobile from John O Groats to Lands End - to prove the build quality, reliability and raise heaps of cash for charity too! 

The Lykamobile Steamer Series 2 will have a number of improvements - This will include much ‘beefier’ valve gear (beefier is a technical term!), valve gear running on bearings, use of oil impregnated bushes throughout and stronger leaf springs. We are also considering changing the electrical water managing system gauge system and redesigning the boiler so it is more like a Stanley Steam Car.
The Lykamobile Steamer Series 2 is available as a series of self assembly kits and delivered at the rate of one kit per month over a twenty four month period. Without even advertising it, at this stage, we have already received NINE deposits and anticipate this batch to sell out quickly. The initial ten orders can take advantage of a 'early bird' discount.
