<tedhoganson@gmail.com> Stanley steam engine and parts. Hello all, I have what i think is a 1920 to 1924 Stanley steam engine, boiler and rear end. This is a project vehicle I bought a few years ago. Its all in a 1949 Studebaker truck. I lubricated and jacked up the vehicle and ran it on compressed air. It runs good in both forward and reverse. The engine runs and turns the tires on the rear end. I don't know the condition of the boiler. I am now looking to sell the entire thing. There is a video of it running at https://youtu.be/GRGHdi6B-OM . I am asking $7500 for all of it. 1899 Locomobile steam car for sale1/12/2021 Ron Sovereign

It has been at least 20 years since this car has run, but it is a very solid car with some nice history! Back in the mid 1940’s this was “Stayton’s Steamer”. He or someone has done previous restoration on the car but it is largely in the same state it was from these articles with its unique “Sisson” Ball Headlights and fender mounted rear-view mirrors. This car has been upgraded to a 27 inch “30 HP” boiler and burner. The burner (which needs at least the insulation redone) is a slotted baker type which looks to be of Amsley design. There is a Cruban Type pilot with the burner. Various valves have been replaced with some ball valves which I would personally not use. No water gauge is currently installed but there is included a kidney gauge and a dead-sight gauge which seem to have been in process as the firewall is marked with some boiler heights in old tape. The pump pit appears to have had some attention with either chromed or stainless pump pistons. It is DIRTY however as the upholstery stuffing is dry and falling into these areas. As with 740’s the air tank is under the seat. Interestingly, there is an air gauge in the standard location under the seat view with the door open, but also one on the dash. There is a centre hole in the dash missing potentially an older boiler level indicator. Front upholstery seems to have been redone from original. The rear however appears to be original and is quite good for its age. New carpets and the jump seats were also likely redone at some point. Windows have original mechanisms however the rear 2 doors seem to have fabricated handles for the windows. All doors open easy and click shut very well – a nice solid body! Roof is dry and some cracking but not terrible. Headliner is remarkably good. Small leather handles and straps are missing as often the case. The chassis is in good overall condition. The wire wheels are very solid and little rust. (Although it should be noted that both front wheels have some bent spokes. Despite this, they run very true). The car rolls easy. The left perch pole was scorched or broken (or both!) and has a steel bar repair in place. 2 perch poles are included, one with a “front” fitting on it. A brace was added from side to side on the front most running board brackets. The engine insulation cover is currently off. The block is rusty as usual and there are hose clamps to hold the packing nuts in place, but the valve cover has not been beaten up so it was either replaced at some point or not been messed with much. Generator appears to have been swapped at some point but what is mounted is solid. Fuel tanks are both wet with old fuel, dirty, but appear solid and cleanable. Please feel free to message me for my phone number/Email to discuss or setup an inspection on the car. I do believe this will make someone a very nice car for touring. It is offered at $46,500 or reasonable offer. #stanleysteamer #stanleymotorcarriagecompany #stanleymotorcarriage #steamcar 1908 Stanley Vanderbilt Racer for sale11/11/2020 1908 Stanley Vanderbilt Racer for sale A client of mine is selling his 1908 Stanley 30HP steam car, cover model of "Clun Chronicle and Newcastle notes" in October 2009. When last registered in the USA it was with the famous late Art Hart. Now UK registered. Due to personal circumstances regrettably I have not been able to use it since purchasing in 2015. So I am sure it will need a little re-commisioning. Prior to me purchasing it, it had a major ground up renovation with thousands of pounds being spent on it. A boiler built to Stanley wire wrapped specification by Bourdon Boiler Works in America. It had been regularly pressure tested by SFP Inspection of Arundel. (supporting documentation). The engine was re-built by J.R.Goulds of Bath, and the pressure valves were rebuilt or replaced by them also. Pressure tanks (primer and fuel pressure) by Vintage Steam of America. Total new piping was fitted to the original layout design. Fitted with dual fuel system, Petrol or Hexane primer burner and Kerosene/Petrol mix main burner. ALL REASONABLE OFFERS ENTERTAINED The history of the Stanley Brothers and the cars has been well documented, most recently in The Stanley Steamer: America’s Legendary Steam Car by Kit Foster. After selling their dry plate film business they ventured into automobiles. Steam was their choice. One of their most significant achievements was the wire wound boiler. This innovation greatly decreased the boiler weight from more conventional ones and thereby reduced the boiler to chassis ratio. So successful was this car that by 1899 they had buyers for their new company and its patents. The sale resulted in the Locomobile and later the Mobile steam car. The new partners disagreed over the future development of their cars and sold the patent rights back to the Stanley brothers. A new and improved Stanley was introduced in 1904. Most noticeable was the introduction of the horizontally mounted engine, this feature as well as the wire wound boiler would last till the end of production. New PRICE: $139,500 Contact Tom
