BOX 55 WOODSTOCK, VERMONT 05091 Dear Steam Car Enthusiast, We are pleased to announce the upcoming 2017 Vermont Steam Car Tour starting on Sunday, August 6th and ending Friday, August 11th to be held in Quechee, Vermont, seven miles east of Woodstock, home of the Bourdon family. This area is no stranger to steam and other antique car tours. The first organized steam car tour was headquartered in Woodstock in 1962 (55 years ago) and the last in Quechee in 2000 with 49 cars registered. The Vermont landscape is clearly rural – an ideal and proven location for a steam car tour. Its relatively low-traveled country roads, historic villages, rolling and hilly terrain, and friendly people, make for an enjoyable event. We hope you will make every attempt to join us. The Headquarters for the Tour will at two locations in Quechee, The Quechee Inn and the The Quality Inn, approximately 1 mile apart. The Tour Committee has made arrangements with both inns to accommodate our group with our steam cars and parking for trailers. Given the attractiveness of the area, it is anticipated that attendance again will be strong. There will be five days planned tours, starting on Monday and ending on Friday. The tour routes will be varied lengths ranging from 70 to 120 miles, with arranged stops at various points of interest. For owners of smaller cars, not interested in traveling longer distances, we intend to offer an option for shorter routes on some of the days. Additionally, we have made arrangements with the historic Quechee Inn for both opening and closing banquets. Information for accommodations are: The Quechee Inn at Marshland Farms PH: 802-295 3133 www.quecheeinn.com The Quality Inn PH: 802 295 6077 www.choicehotels.com/QualityInn/Quechee Several prospective attendees already have made reservations at the inns. If you plan on attending, we would encourage you to make your reservations sooner than later. When making reservations, please note that you are a part of the Vermont Steam Car Tour so that you can receive the discounted room rate for the dates of the Tour. At this point, we are interested in obtaining a preliminary count on those interested in attending so that we can begin planning for the event in more detail. It would be greatly appreciated, if you could give your Tour Committee an indication of your intent on attending the tour, including if you plan on bringing a steam car. If you are unsure about attending, but would like to remain on our mailing list, please let us know. To confirm your interest contact Don Bourdon or Kathryn May on or before May 30th at one of the addresses listed below. In early June, your Committee will be forwarding more information about the Tour, including registration materials to persons on our mailing list. Drive It Day Every year Drive It Day is purposefully held on the Sunday nearest to 23 April. Why? Because it commemorates the 64 cars that left London on the first day of the Thousand Mile Trial on 23 April 1900. The Royal Automobile Club Thousand Mile Trial started in London and passed through Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester - traveled through Scotland - then passed back though more English locations until they were back in London again. The tour lasted until May 12th and 46 out of approximately 65 starting cars made it to the finish line. Schnauferl Wander Fahrt 201712/16/2016 1st to 5th of July (5 days of touring)

Dear Sir/Madam, Some of your members may be interested in the annual Caux Retro rally which this year will take place on 1 & 2 July 2017; the rally is based in the village of Allouville-Bellefosse, Seine Maritime in the delightful Haute Normandie countryside and is known for its conviviality. On the Saturday there is a 60km run and on the Sunday there is a static display in the village. As the village is only 53km from the port of Le Havre and 60km from the port of Dieppe the rally is not far away for English participants. Participation costs just €20 per person and lunch on the two days is provided free of charge.
