Re: Steam Car Tour 11th -17th June 2017 We are considering running a Steam Car Tour under NSCA rules, but not necessarily limited to NSCA members, next June. We have made provisional arrangements to base the tour on ‘The Langton Arms’ in Tarrant Monkton near Blandford, Dorset. (thelangtonarms.co.uk) This is a lovely pub in a small village full of thatched cottages. There is a fine restaurant and splendid bar meals and a genuine old skittle alley. There is also a field owned by the pub for all our kit. The location will be familiar to all those who have attended the GDSF and managed to get off site for an evening out! Before making more definite arrangements we need to have some idea of the number of people/cars that would like to participate. The accommodation at the Inn is limited but there are several other options in the village. If you think you would like to join us, please let us know as soon as possible because we can only hold the rooms for a limited period. Dear Sir/Madam, Some of your members may be interested in the annual Caux Retro rally which this year will take place on 1 & 2 July 2017; the rally is based in the village of Allouville-Bellefosse, Seine Maritime in the delightful Haute Normandie countryside and is known for its conviviality. On the Saturday there is a 60km run and on the Sunday there is a static display in the village. As the village is only 53km from the port of Le Havre and 60km from the port of Dieppe the rally is not far away for English participants. Participation costs just €20 per person and lunch on the two days is provided free of charge. Stanley Steam Car events in America in 201712/14/2016 Stanley Museum report on events. As the Museum look to 2O17, we know we have a lot to accomplish. The two big events for the museum are the two day seminar followed by the steam car and parts auction, to benefit the Museum. The keynote speaker will kick off activities on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the University of Maine at Farmington. On Thursday and Friday, we plan to run two full days of seminars, with the main subject being steam cars. If you are interested in leading a discussion or reaching a class, please contact the Museum. Following the two day seminar, we will move to Kingfield for our Auction. If you have anything to donate or consign for the auction, it will have to be in Kingfield by June 1 2O17. Otherwise, we will not guarantee that the items will be published in the catalog or advertised online. It is imperative that we have as many items pertaining to steam cars as possible, as the number of items being auctioned off directly relates to the number of people involved in the auction either in person or online. Tour August 6th 2017 Immediately following the auction will be the beginning of the Eastern Steam Car Tour in Woodstock, VT.The event will begin on Sunday, August 6. Don Bourdon the tour organiser will be sending out our informarion in the near future.
