Spray lube for steam car dry engine

Does anyone have experience with using spray chain lube in a dry engine? I overheard a mention of this, and I assume they were talking about something like http://www.belray.com/bel-ray-super-clean-chain-lube . I'm thinking of taking an EX on a tour, and it seems like it would be nice to just sort of point & blast, rather than trying to insert a long prehensile snout into spots that can barely even be seen.
