Chris Achilles Stanley Steamer Automobile · Saint Johnsbury, VT, United States · My father has this steam engine in his basement, which supposedly as he once said was from a “Stanley Steamer race car”. How might I go around figuring out what it is exactly? (It is not for sale)

This engine is the type used in the first Stanley carriages when they eliminated the chain drive and went to the gear driven rearend. They added the extension rod to use up the existing engines. After this engine they made with longer frame rod. Leave a Reply. |
