help wanted for Locomobile engine1/5/2018 Hi, is there any chance you could tell me the valve travel for a locomobile engine? I am rebuilding one that I acquired without a crankshaft or eccentrics and am about to start machining them but the drawings I have don't state it either!

The valve travel on those little engines is .75" - eccentric bore .375 off center. It can be measured by removing the valve cover and moving the valve the required distance and measuring the valve rod travel at the packing gland. I remade the crankshaft for mine and made the eccentrics out of 330 bronze and they have served well for about 3 years. Crankshaft was machined from 1018 and not heat treated, it has held up without issue as well.
