The Steam Car Club of Great Britain has received an invitation from the Chateau Impney Hill Climb organisers for SCC members to attend the event with their steamers. The organisers are very keen to have us there so that when I pointed out that it would be difficult for us to meet their original requirements the organisers came back with a better offer, saying:- "Having given this some thought and appreciating the time issue, we thought that if we reserve you a dedicated space within the Classic car park, which has the advantage of being close to the main entrance but still very close to the track, with easy access across the site. This way as long as you give us a reasonable guide as to potential numbers of vehicles we can reserve a space for you with no time restrictions on access. We would be delighted to have the Club attend and hope the above suggestion would work better for you." Each steamer would be allotted 2 weekend tickets worth £40.00 per person. This is a great venue, the spectacular grounds to the Chateau providing not only the hill climb track. live display screens and grandstands, but food villages, a vintage fun fair, a variety of specially invited displays, a classic car auction and a Concours D' Elegance. A special attraction for us is the Bob Dyke has accepted the invitation to enter Whistling Billy, so Bob will be competing directly against ICE cars. Not to be missed. I'll be acting as the required co-ordinator so please contact me for your tickets or with any queries. DATES, 8th and 9th July 2016. I hope to see lots of members there.
